Role of Traditional Ethnobotanical Knowledge and Indigenous Communities in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals

The sustainable development goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 with 169 targets. Agenda 2030 the United Nations envisages holistic approach to achieve these by focusing on humankind and planet. In this review, we analyzed scientific literature technical reports international bodies such as Food Agriculture Organization relating traditional ethnobotanical knowledge (TEK). TEK was mapped targets SDGs determine role in realization selected Our extensive systematic reviewing available literatures suggests that, goals, at least seven associated TEK. To thorough understanding is required disentangle intricacies involving TEK, indigenous people holding their future achieving SDGs. review points towards linked poverty, health wellbeing, responsible consumption production, climate action, life land, partnerships. summary, argue that intended outcomes requires concerted efforts all relevant stakeholders, including communities, common citizens, scientists, policy makers, world leaders.
